What is distinct here
Beacon Quilt combines row-and-column quota deduction with mandatory 180-degree patch pairing. Unlike a neighbor-toggle puzzle, every action directly changes one visible rotational pair, so progress comes from reconciling two row clues and two column clues rather than memorizing an effect pattern.
Rules
- Each five-by-five panel shows a target number for every row and column. The small number beside each target is the current count of lit patches.
- Selecting an unlocked patch flips both it and the patch opposite it through the exact center. A locked diamond marks a verified patch pair that cannot be changed.
- Press Check stitches only when all ten quotas match. An incorrect audit uses one of three thimbles without changing the quilt; one optional hint locks an incorrect pair to its correct state.
- Complete four generated panels to win. Every quota set is exhaustively checked against all 8,192 rotational patterns and published only when exactly one solution exists.
Strategy tips
- Begin with rows or columns whose targets are one or four. Those extreme quotas remove more uncertainty than a middle value.
- Every move affects a patch on the opposite side of the center. Before flipping, compare both affected row clues and both column clues.
- The center patch is its own rotational partner. Save it until the outer pairs settle, because the middle row and column share that single decision.

No. The generator enumerates all 8,192 rotationally symmetric five-by-five patterns, groups them by row and column quotas, and keeps only clue sets with exactly one matching pattern. Publication tests repeat this proof across 160 seeded sets.
Why did two patches change when I tapped only one?
Every ordinary patch is paired with the patch opposite it through the center. This rotation rule is always active and is the constraint that makes the row and column quotas a deduction puzzle.
Does Beacon Quilt upload my puzzle or score?
No. Generated panels and active moves stay in the current session. Only the best completed score is stored locally in this browser.
