What is distinct here
Pattern Vault uses two separate feedback signals—exact slots and correct symbols in the wrong place—so each test can reduce the solution space. The one-use scan supports learning without revealing the whole code.
Rules
- Each code contains four different glyphs chosen from a set of six; no glyph repeats within the secret.
- Build a four-glyph test and submit it. Green counts glyphs in the exact slot; amber counts correct glyphs placed in another slot.
- The candidate counter applies every visible clue and the optional scanned slot to show how many legal codes remain. It never reveals the secret answer by itself.
- Match all four exact slots within six complete tests to unlock the vault. Faster solves, fewer tests and saving the scan earn a higher local score.
Strategy tips
- Treat the green exact count and amber misplaced count as separate equations; a total of four means every chosen glyph belongs in the code.
- Keep confirmed exact glyphs in place while rotating only the uncertain symbols between later guesses.
- Use the one-slot scan after two informative guesses, not at the start, so its revealed position removes the largest remaining branch.
What we tested
The scoring logic handles repeated glyphs without double-counting and every vault has a fixed answer. Tests cover feedback calculation, six-test limits, scan consumption, undo, paused controls and a complete successful deduction.
