What is distinct here
Prism Beacon is a compact ray-routing puzzle with ordered gates. The extra constraint matters: merely lighting every crystal is insufficient, because the beam must cross them in sequence before it reaches the marked exit.
Rules
- A cyan emitter sends one continuous beam into a six-by-six light array. Empty cells do not bend the beam.
- Tap a numbered mirror to switch between slash and backslash angles; the beam redraws immediately after every turn.
- The beam must cross crystal gates 1, 2 and onward in exact order, then leave through the gold diamond port shown in the mission panel.
- Synchronize three handcrafted, verified arrays to win. Faster routes with fewer mirror turns earn a higher score stored only in this browser.
Strategy tips
- Work backward from the gold exit: identify the final mirror that can send the beam to that port, then continue toward the emitter.
- A lit gate is not enough if another gate was skipped. The numbered crystals must be crossed in ascending order before the exit accepts the beam.
- Each mirror has only two angles. When a change sends the beam away from every remaining gate, flip it back and move to the next junction.
What we tested
Each handcrafted board is traced from emitter to exact exit by automated logic, including reflection direction and gate order. Interaction checks cover direct number keys, focused keyboard rotation, touch targets, reset and paused input.
Frequently asked questions
Is every Prism Beacon array solvable?
Yes. Each of the three arrays is built from a verified route, and automated tests trace the solution through every numbered gate to the exact target port.
Why did a lit gate not count toward the goal?
Gates must be crossed in ascending number order. A beam can touch a later crystal, but the route is accepted only when the full ordered sequence reaches the marked exit.
Does Prism Beacon upload my route or score?
No. Your current mirror layout stays in the active session, and only the best completed score is stored locally in this browser.
